Long Time No Blog

It has been a long road. We are finally settling into a comfortable routine at our home.  Mandy and Bennett have now been here long enough to where we are all referring to it as "home".  Her house has not sold yet, as a mater of fact, it has only had 4 showings in almost 3 months!  The economy is so bad for housing.  I am so afraid that my poor daughter's credit, which she has worked to build for many years now, is going to be ruined because of losing her home.  Right now, she is making all the payments and expenses herself because her sorry ex will not help her.  Wish I could just pick up and leave my financial obligations and say "Screw You" to whomever I owed money!!  He did and Mandy will be taking him to court one day to make sure that he pays his part!!!  Unfortunately, he is not in his right mind even yet.  He still believes that he "deserves" to be a part of Bennett's life.  Whatever!!!  Bennett deserves NOT to have to deal with the psychotic loser coming into his life every other weekend for 2 hours!!  THAT is NOT parenting, dude, no matter what you think!  You would do Bennett much more justice if you left and stayed out of his life for good.....you know, kind of like you were planning if you had been able to find your passport 7 months ago!!  Right, we have not forgotten your crazy actions, even if you proclaim your sanity now.  A job and a semi-permanent place to live are NOT stabilty!
No more to this loser.....on to happier things.
Bennett turned 1 yr.old on June 4. We had a party with around 60 people here.  Mandy wanted to thank some of the folks that have supported her and Bennett and their new life during the last few months as well as Bennett's birthday celebration!!  We had a blast.  Bennett looked amazingly cute in his little hat and outfit his Mommy bought him for the occasion.
I wish I could post more Bennett photos on this blog, but circumstances prevent me from doing so. Sorry.  Along with Bennett's birthday during this time was Father's Day.  Brian was more than happy to celebrate with Bennett on father's Day.  Bennett loves his Pop so much! He calls him from the time he gets up in the morning and get so very excited when he walks in the door in the evenings.
Bennett loves for Pop to take him on wagon rides, his cozy coupe car rides and to swing him!!!
Our summer days will really not be officially started until Mandy is out of a workshop she has to take all this week......then, watch out!! We will be lazy campers all summer.  Hopefully I will update this blog more often in the summer :)   Until then, here is a nice photo of Mandy and Bennett reading one of the books we received for his birthday.
Ta,ta...and, as always, if you visit..please leave a comment. Thanks!

Great post Sue, Mandy and Bennett are such blessings in your lives and you and your husband are equally such to them! I look forward to reading your summer stories!
